On Friday, April 23rd, Three Lions Promotions (TLP) presents unbeaten WBC-ranked cruiserweight Ryan “The Bruiser” Rozicki (12-0, 12 KOs) of Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada for his third title defence of his WBC International Silver Cruiserweight title at the Griffins Boxing Studio in North Vancouver, BC, Canada. “The event was originally scheduled for Saturday April 24th but due to logistical issues, we moved the date to a day earlier and we have added his WBC title to be on the line against Salar.” said Managing Director, Daniel Otter of Three Lions Promotions (3LP)..
“I am looking forward to this fight because Ryan Rozicki brings a war-like mentality into every fight. I am ready, and this fight is going to be a war. Unfortunately for him, on April 23rd, Rozicki will taste defeat for the first time. I look forward to stealing the show and winning my first championship belt as a professional.” – stated Salar Gholami
“I have been giving it my all in training and will give it my all in the ring come fight night in Vancouver. I never underestimate any of my opponents as this is championship boxing and I think it’s a pretty evenly matched fight. Im glad to be putting my title on the line and may the best man win” explained Ryan Rozicki.
Antonio Napolitano (5-0, 3 KOs) of St. Catharines, Ont will take on Winnipeg’s Codey Hanna (7-5, 5KO) in an 8 round fight at a catch weight of 172lbs, putting it just 3lbs under the light heavyweight threshold. The 172 lbs weight limit could create problems for either fighter, Codey’s last bout being at the 200 lbs mark and Antonio weighing in under 165 lbs for his last outing.
Napolitano’s 3LP team member and Fellow Ontarian from Orangeville, Jake Daoust (1-0) will face Stuart Twardzik(1-0, 1 KO) of Saskatoon, SK in a 6 round affair which is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
Amanda Galle (4-0) of Mississauga, Ont will take on Ottawa’s mixed martial artist Amy Reid, who will be making her boxing pro debut.
Local Vancouver talent will be showcased, with both Jacob George and Scott Woodward making their pro debuts against each other.
Also Mohamed Zawadi of Barrie Ontario will be making his highly anticipated pro debut.
“It is very important to build boxing back up in Canada after this pandemic and having a handful of pro debuts is exactly what’s needed.” explained Otter.
Both the local commission and the WBC sanctioning body are eager for boxing to return.
“After a great deal of safety planning and preparation, we are excited to see Pro Boxing return to BC with a strong showing for its first major event scheduled for Vancouver in April of 2021.” Kelly Gilday, BC athletics commissioner
“Daniel Otter of Three Lions Promotions in Canada has been working hard to be back with a regular boxing activity and we are looking forward to Ryan’s title defence.” Stated Mauricio Sulaiman, President of the WBC.
