Three Lions’ Promotions Signs Canadian Amateur King John Michael Bianco

Three Lions Promotions (TLP) is excited to announce the addition of 81 kg amateur standout and Team Canada member John Michael Bianco of Mississauga, Ontario, to its ever growing stable of talent.  Training out of Kombat Arts, Bianco quickly ascended the amateur ranks, winning provincial and national accolades, including the Tokyo 2020 Canadian Qualifier. But TLP believes the best is yet to come. Bianco is tailor made for the pros.

“I love Bianco’s style,” said TLP Managing Director Daniel Otter. “He has the traditional amateur pedigree, so he does everything well, but he also brings some wrinkles you don’t see much anymore. He does classic stuff. You’ll see him roll his stance as he punches, so a straight power shot is always on deck. It’s beautiful. Fans will love him.”

As an amateur, Bianco established himself as the top light heavyweight in Canada at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Qualifiers in Montreal, defeating Samuel Moses of British Columbia and Moe Zawadi of Ontario to claim top honours. Bianco’s Olympic dream ended in Hungary, where he ran into World University Champion of Valerii Kharlamov of Ukraine in the opening round.

“ I was hoping to qualify for 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the spring of 2020 but the Games were postponed to 2021 due to Covid. Then in 2021 the Americas Olympic qualifier tournament was cancelled in May, and qualifications were determined based upon rankings set prior to Covid, which was a huge disappointment to me.  It really got me thinking about the pro game and how my boxing career might develop with the right manager and promoter behind me. I signed a management contract with Gary Freedman which led to me signing a promotional contract with Three Lions. My pro debut is scheduled for February 2022, and I can’t wait to get in the ring.” .”

Bianco joins TLP’s stable of contenders and prospects, including recent world title challenger Ryan Rozicki (13-1-0, 13KOs), super welterweight contender Jessie Wilcox (15-0-2, 9KOs), former two-time national champion Brandon Brewer (25-1-1, 11KOs), lightweight standout Bradley Wilcox (9-0-0, 4KOs), heavy-handed Antonio Napolitano (5-0-0, 3KOs), top welterweight prospect Carolyn Redmond (3-0-0, 2KOs), and Canadian amateur champ Jake Daoust (2-0-0, 1KOs).
